We have an opportunity for a Millwright/Electrician Supervisor (Maintenance Supervisor).

Job Summary

The Millwright/Electrician Supervisor (Maintenance Supervisor). is accountable to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for the supervision and coordination of daily activities of the Maintenance Mechanics, Maintenance Automation Technicians and Electricians.  
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the reliable operation and maintenance of all production equipment and systems 

Responsibilities

  • Spearheads troubleshooting efforts in a collaborative manner with the Maintenance technicians, Mtce Specialist, Tech Service, production teams and Mtce Planner 
  • Reports to the Maintenance Manager any significant equipment deficiencies as well as all unsafe working conditions found and provides proper documentation for deviations and proposed changes. 
  • Directs and checks that all outside service companies and contractors are performing contracted work according to internal procedures. 
  • Assumes autonomy for the majority of day-to-day Production equipment and systems maintenance related decisions and escalating issues to the Maintenance Manager as required. 
  • Ensures that all direct reports follow all company safety policies and legislation. 
  • Drives good housekeeping and maintains an organized work environment. 
  • Works closely with the Maintenance Scheduler to ensure PM execution in a timely fashion. 
  • In a collaborative manner with the Inventory Technician, manages spare parts inventory as required maintaining effective and efficient operational levels.  
  • Assists Manager to manage the Maintenance budget and proper allocation of spending funds.
  • Respond to on-call needs for Production equipment or systems emergencies as required.  
  • Accountable for GMP compliance with pharmaceutical regulatory standards governing Cambridge site.
  • Performs risk assessment and GAP analysis of Production equipment and systems and recommends continuous improvement, cost improvement.  
  • Supports timely resolution of quality systems issues and documentation related to Maintenance i.e.; CAN, DIR, CCR, MDI, Internal/External Audits and other QA documents. 
  • Ensures that an accurate record of matters that may affect the safe management, operation and maintenance of the
  • Production equipment and systems is made and maintained at all times (Logbooks, Carl PM’s, Corrective Work Orders) 
  • Writes and maintains relevant Standard Operating Procedures, Technical Bulletins and other related documents.
  • Works closely with other groups such as Production, Production Support, Technical Services, Project Management, to understand needs for Maintenance support on all Novocol Pharma project activities. 
  • Performs training requirements assessment for Maintenance group and develops, implements, and maintains training program to ensure Maintenance team can fully and proficiently support all Production/Project activities across all shifts. 
  • Leads the Maintenance team structure assessment and transformation needs through attrition/retirement of Maintenance staff and develops staffing plans for short and long term to fully support existing needs and future business growth.  
  • Responsible for coaching, disciplining and annual performance reviews of all direct reports.

Qualifications

Education 

  • Certified Electrician or Millwright. 

Experience 

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in pharmaceutical, food / beverage, with a minimum experience of 2 years in a lead/supervisory capacity. 
  • Able to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, electrical, and P&ID drawings / schematics. 
  • Good interpersonal, troubleshooting, communication, planning & organizing skills, demonstrates initiative, problem solver, team player, results oriented and self-motivated. 
  • Has the ability to lead and take ownership on systems and projects. 
    Experience using AX or other ERP system preferred.
