We have an opportunity for a Analytics Analyst/Developer.

Job Summary

The Analytics Analyst / Developer position works within our global data & analytics team – a group of engineers and data professionals who help Septodont improve our business by applying data science analytical methods.  We are looking for candidates with a background and interest in business data analysis (applied to sales, marketing, and manufacturing), data science techniques, machine learning algorithms, and user-centric solution design.  This is a junior role (seeking ~3 years practical work experience) and will be coached by our senior developers to help build their skills during initial projects.

This role is based at our Cambridge, Ontario location, and reports to the Director, Data & Analytics. The successful candidate will work with stakeholders remotely at our other locations, primarily USA and France. 

Responsibilities

  • Apply business analytics & data science methods to help our stakeholders answer business questions.
  • Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to understand and translate business needs into solution requirements, prototypes, and operational solutions/systems.
  • Contribute to the analysis, design, build, test, deploy and support of data science solutions, preferably using our current technology stack (e.g., Microsoft Azure AI / Machine Learning, Python, Power BI).
  • Build data flows, models, and user-facing analytical tools which assist our internal business users to self-navigate our analysis outputs.
  • Contribute to the knowledgebase and working practices of the team, including our analytical approaches, delivery methods and artifacts, and processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or related field or equivalent
  • 3 years of work experience in an Analytics analyst or junior developer role (project experience building business analytics or reporting for use by internal company business teams)
  • Keen interest in AI/ML data science methods, demonstrated by initiative inside projects or another delf-directed research and development.

Experience & Interests

  • Data science methods as applied to business (sales, marketing, manufacturing, quality) – working knowledge of relevant machine learning and statistical algorithms.
  • Data flow development – primarily SQL based for structured datasets.
  • Data visualization methods and practices
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to interact directly with stakeholders across business units and accountability levels.
  • Proficient in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.  French is a nice to have.
